Two Solos for Guitar
Two Solos for Guitar: “I came across the phrase “waiting for fullness” in a poem and those three words struck me. I wrote the phrase down in a journal because I knew it would be a great prompt for writing music. The emotional aim of the piece is to give the performer/listener a feeling of waiting for a sense of fullness, meaning, or contentment, only to realize that that fullness had always been within them. “When All Was Still was composed in the spring of 2020 at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. The city
where I live was suddenly quiet day and night. A stillness, which would typically be present only in the hours just
before dawn, was now present all of the time. Like many others, I used this time to go inward and enjoy the
stillness.” This music is contemplative and accessible. Intermediate difficulty.
