Etude No. 1

The pattern prelude is a reliable means of right-hand development in classical guitar pedagogy. I consider this to be an effective and musical étude for intermediate guitarists, training three aspects of their musicianship. First, it’s a solid right-hand workout, one that trains especially a and m, while not only using these fingers. Second, it is, at times, also a left-hand workout.
