Neve Leve

“Neve Leve” was inspired by the rather wild variance of a Buffalo April. One day it’s warm and sunny, and the next it’s a light snow out of the east. These unwilling and weary returns into the grip of Buffalo’s long winter tend to double the intensity of my saudade for the alegria I experience playing choros and polcas in the glorious sunny days of Rio. And so, even though an evidently happy piece, “Neve Leve” will convey a certain wistfulness.
