Two Choros from Niterói

“Lembranças de Niterói” (Memories of Niterói) and “Uma tarde em Jurujuba” (An Afternoon in Jurujuba) are two solo-guitar choros inspired by and recorded in the city of Niterói across the bay from iconic Rio de Janeiro. Calmer and cheaper, Niterói has long been the home of many of Rio’s most respected choro musicians, such Jonas Silva and Carlinhos Leite, who played with Jacob do Bandolim, as well as Ronaldo do Bandolim, Silvério Pontes, Rogério Souza, and more.
