Three Brazilian Pieces

$15.00

Brazilian pianist Ernesto Nazareth (1863-1934) was influenced by his country’s popular music as much as Romantic era composers. The former manifests itself in his compositions that embrace the rhythmic syncopations and colorful melodies and harmonies of choro, a strand of Brazilian jazz/popular music. In the near-century since his passing, scores of musicians have honored Nazareth’s music by reinterpreting it through jazz-tinted lenses. I present these arrangements within the same sensibility. Included in this collection: Odeon, Eponina and Brejeiro. Score 14 pages, intermediate difficulty.
