Planting Etudes

The purpose of these etudes is to introduce the player to right hand planting. Planting, or the act of returning a finger to the string, is often done in conjunction with other fingers’ plucking motion. In other words, as a finger plucks toward the palm of the hand, another finger may need to move forward to land on a string. This allows the right hand to physically prepare for the next note.
