Salut d’Amour, Op. 12 for Violin and Guitar

$12.00

English composer Edward Elgar (1857–1934) wrote this piece for violin and piano in 1888 and offered it as an engagement present to his fiancée, Caroline Alice Roberts (1848–1920). Elgar initially titled the piece “Liebesgruss” (“Love’s Greeting”). His publisher translated it to “Salut d’Amour, hoping a French title would appeal to a broader European audience. This arrangement for violin and guitar retains the delicate texture and intimate dialogue of the original composition, conveying all the refinement and charm that make “Salut d’Amour” one of Elgar’s best-known works.
