Chaconne

This chaconne is from a keyboard suite by the German composer Johann Casper Ferdinand Fischer (1656-1746). Though little-known today, Fischer was held in high esteem by his contemporaries as a master of the French style of composition fashionable in royal households. Most of his career he served as Kapellmeister in the court of Baden writing keyboard music, cantatas, operas, and other works.
