Marina Alexandra

Marina Alexandra is an accomplished, award-winning classical guitarist
born in Ukraine. With a vibrant career as both a concert performer and a
dedicated educator, she has inspired countless students, many of whom
have gone on to earn scholarships at prestigious conservatories such as the
University of Southern California, Peabody Conservatory, Yale University,
and Eastman School of Music. Her students have also been featured on the
nationally acclaimed radio show From the Top, which showcases the top
classical musicians aged 14 to 18. Marina has served on the faculty of
Columbia College (SC), the University of South Carolina (Aiken), Wingate
University, and Furman University, sharing her passion for music and guitar
with the next generation of musicians.
Mrs. Alexandra holds an undergraduate degree in music from Ukraine and a
Master’s in Guitar Performance from the University of South Carolina, USA.
Marina is also a proud parent of two musically gifted sons who have received
numerous awards in piano and violin competitions.
Over the past 30 years of teaching, Marina has been searching for the perfect
beginner guitar book— one that allows young students to start playing from
the very first lesson while maintaining proper hand position. When she
couldn’t find one that met her standards, she created it herself.
Marina Alexandra has also released multiple music albums that have
received critical acclaim from prestigious publications such as Classical
Guitar (UK), American Record Guide, and many others.
